Art4ROM piloting in Hungary, Italy and Slovakia

Italy (Mus-E Napoli)

In this project the comprehension and the integration of the Roma and non-Roma culture is transmitted by Music.

Music becomes narration, graphic sign, drawing, product, video to discover the story and the life of Roma people in order to interpret their culture and knowledge for music.

Mus-E Napoli will identify one or more heterogeneous groups composed of children/teenagers (Roma and non-Roma) to be divided into small groups according to their inclination and the instrument chosen and after a preliminary test aptitude. 







ETP Slovensko 

 

ETP Slovensko will involve Roma and non-Roma children into the Art4ROM project activities by using music and drama to promote Roma culture among school-age children and youth. Implementation of these non - formal educational tools will lead to successful fulfillment of the project objectives.Cultural operators (leaders of extracurricular activities) in community centres will use innovative educational methods during regular extracurricular activities, attended by Roma children.

Hungary (Mus-E Hungary)
 

A long experience of 20 years in the environment and pillars such as self-confidence, acceptance and practicing arts school gives MUS-E Hungary, exceptional expand its methodology Roma culture opportunity. Through the main artistic disciplines such as music, dance, visual arts and theater, MUS-E Hungary will implement a "laboratory" on the development of new methodologies focusing on Roma children in schools basic of MUS-E Hungarian network. In addition to involve artists from different disciplines, the project will be delivered in various Hungarian cities as Budapast, Győr and Tatabánya in the neighborhood called "Mandingo".

Art4ROM piloting intends to stimulate personal growth and development, favour integration and eradicate school absenteeism and to promote the Roma culture among children in school ages. The piloting will be implemented in different contexts: in primary schools, in settlements and recreation points for ROMA and non ROMA children.

The children will be reached at school or while at activities organized by associations. They will be approached through a type of communication that they may find appealing such as tales, puppets, theatre, group games, face and T-shirt paintings, drawing, singing, etc.



During the piloting phase the following activities will be performed:

 

- Experiment methodology in different countries - Hungary, Italy, Slovakia;

- Bringing together children from schools and ghettos into schools or cultural centers and working together in order to foster integration; 
- Selection of Schools;
- Selection of Cultural centres.
